Miles Davis

Ningún disco de jazz acumula tantas distinciones en forma simultánea como "Kind of Blue". Ha sido considerado como el disco de jazz por excelencia; como una síntesis de la historia del jazz hasta la fecha; el punto final de la era del bop - una especie de despedida a los años de Miles Davis junto a Charlie Parker- y la piedra de toque de toda una era. Su impacto en el jazz modal - tonalidad y solos construidos a partir de los acordes- , la popularidad de sus composiciones y su sonido, además de la larga trayectoria de su éxito comercial proyectan una sombra que continúa creciendo a pesar de los años.

"Kind of Blue" fue grabado el 2 de marzo de 1959 por una banda excepcional: John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Winton Kelly, Cannonball Adderley, Paul Chambers y Jimmy Cobb.
