I want to remind you that in August, Ryan Truesdell will record a CD of previously unrecorded Gil Evans music. It’s a project that I’ve been personally dying to hear! When I heard this music played live a few months ago, it blew my mind… stunning music! He’s creating it through ArtistShare in the same way that I have done with my own recordings. There are lots of ways to participate. And, if you’re an interested composer, you get to ask Ryan questions about how Gil orchestrated some of your favorite “Gil” moments. He has access to those answers. That’s just a crazy/wonderful opportunity!
By pre-ordering, you will be playing a very important role in bringing this incredible music to the light of day. It’s been a labor of love for Ryan. He found over 50 undocumented works and chose the very best of those. Honestly, there’s so much great stuff, he could make several incredible recordings.
